A Fragment of the Fugue
 
Once upon a time there was a realm. 
A splendiferous realm of such wonder and such exquisite beauty in perfect balance 
that in order to keep it safe from the ignorance of cuckoos and unrelenting ravening darkness
was woven into carpet. 
But some knew,
some had already seen the light,
so, even as the years passed and it became much harder to remember and easy to forget,
a fragment of the Fugue remained.
Burning bright
and waiting for just the right moment to unravel and
 spill its secrets and its truths once more back into the world.
And this is why,
 in spite of all the loss 
and all the pain 
and all the many disappointments and confusions that would lead to a contrary conclusion,
there is always cause for hope
and no such thing as 
the end.
