I don’t know how it happened I took left fork, not the right.
No morning came, instead I wandered deeper into night.
I dreamt of golden light, it was magic to be home.
I woke to find that I was still in darkness and alone.
I gave up and lay down upon the cold, unfriendly grass.
Many moons I spent in thought how this had come to pass.
I did not know that all this time, in shadows, patiently,
you were there, were always there, watching over me.
