The Golden Thread
Mostly dislocated, trapped in mind, lost in space,
but then,
communion with ‘the other’, your face, the face of god, or grace.
Sweet, sweet remembrance.
Ah! To each other we must cleave.
as from now on, as one, our work is done.
Together, you and I, shall weave.
We come into communion with an open heart,
we come in awe before the alter of our labours,
curious, sincere and courageous as we start,
for the fruits born, incomparable in fragrance.
Thoughts, we patiently track or keenly stalk,
sculpt and spar with as we talk.
With pure intent and diligence
and sharp exquisite care,
we cajole and coax and will to revelation,
that mystery we call truth or god
then, suddenly, all takes flight without, within
and all around that golden, shimmering air.
Out of chaos, the word of god is spoken,
resurrected, reeling out, from dawn of time,
the thread remains, unbroken.
In spite of our infinite ignorance,
for purpose and for reason let us weave.
For joy, for pleasure, for this gift of inspiration,
this immeasurable treasure,
let us weave.
Let us seek redemption, seek salvation, find reprieve,
and so the thread goes on,
let us weave.
