The Hierophant - 5
The fool had been feeling quite smug and secure,
when a fear came along that she could not endure.
So much had she learned since her journey began,
so many friends since she'd hatched her great plan.
What if the whole thing just crumbled and burned?
What would it matter the things that she'd learned?
What would it matter the people she'd met?
She felt herself tremble and stumble and sweat.
I need a great guru, I'm sorely afeared,
wished the fool to herself and the guru appeared.
He looked so grand that at first she recoiled.
'He looks all pampered and pious and spoiled.'
But she noticed that others submitted with grace
and fast took the cynical frown off her face.
Rewarded she was when she took his advice,
straightforward and practical, done in a trice.
'It's not about you, think bigger my friend,
we all must lie down, say goodbye in the end.'
He dismissed the fools fears with a flick of his wrist,
and his feet in jade slippers she gratefully kissed.
